  12. WinOne Installation
  13. -------------------

  15. To install WinOne from the windows Program Manager :-
  16.  
  17.     1. from the File menu select Run...
  18.     2. Enter the full path containing the installation
  19.        program. For example :-
  20.  
  21.         A:\SETUP.EXE
  22.  
  23.     3. Once SETUP has started, simply follow any 
  24.        further instructions given.
  25.  
  26. SETUP  will  only create  one directory  and  one  sub-directory  and copy  all
  27. the  relevant  files into these  directories,  then a  Program Manager group is
  28. created and the  WinOne icon is placed inside.
  29.     
  30. To  uninstall WinOne, simply  delete all the files in the  directories in which 
  31. WinOne was installed  and delete the group that the  WinOne icon was placed in.

  34. Network Installation
  35. --------------------
  36.  
  37. WinOne  must be  installed  on each  client computer  connected to the network, 
  38. otherwise WinOne will not function correctly. Each client computer will contain
  39. a  windows  directory,  which  WinOne  will  use  to  store it's  configuration
  40. information, so that,  each user will be able to configure WinOne to suit their
  41. own needs.  All  network drives  will be accessible  from  WinOne,  after it is
  42. installed.  Follow the  instructions for  installing  WinOne from  the  Program
  43. Manager in the WinOne Installation section.

  46. Installing an Upgrade
  47. ---------------------
  48.  
  49. When  installing an upgraded version of WinOne, simply install  WinOne into the
  50. same  directory as  the previous version.  WinOne will then be  able to use the
  51. same configuration files as your previous version.  Otherwise, WinOne will need
  52. to be re-configured from scratch. 
  53.  
  54. Make sure that an earlier version of  WinOne is not running while installing an
  55. upgraded version of WinOne.  If WinOne is set as your  default start up  shell, 
  56. then restore the  Program Manager as your start up shell, before installing the
  57. upgrade.

  59. Never run the SETUP.EXE program from WinOne itself, to install an upgrade.  Use
  60. the Program Manager  instead, as described in the section  WinOne Installation. 
  61.  
  62. If possible reboot Windows after WinOne has been installed,  before running the 
  63. upgraded version.

  99. Note: The files included in the  shareware version  are  NOT  compressed  using
  100. COMPRESS.EXE  in order to produce a smaller archive.  However, the full version
  101. is still compressed using  COMPRESS.EXE and is supplied on  either  two 3.5" or
  102. two 5.25" floppy disks.

  105. System Requirements
  106. -------------------

  108. WinOne requires the following to run :-
  109.  
  110.     1. an IBM PC or 100% compatible
  111.     2. a 386 CPU or better
  112.     3. Win32s version 1.25 or Windows 95 or Windows NT 3.5 or higher.
  113.  
  114. Note: WinOne will still run under earlier versions of Win32s,  however the bugs
  115. in  earlier versions of  Win32s are quite noticeable from WinOne.  For the best
  116. performance,  install Win32s version 1.25 or higher,  which at the time of this
  117. release can be downloaded from MicroSoft :-
